Blessing Baskets provide life essential supplies to those that are in need of assistance financially.
Distribution of the Blessings Baskets is on the third Sunday of each month from 4:30-5:30 P.M at Live Church. Submit an application for a blessings basket no later than 1 week before distribution. Click here to go to the application form.
The Community Kitchen
Meals are provided until food runs out on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 5:30 P.M. and Saturdays beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Hood UMC.
Service groups or individuals are invited to volunteer their time to cook, serve, and/or clean. You may serve on a rotational basis or as a one-time event. To get started, check out The Community Kitchen’s Facebook page or call the Hood UMC church office at 417-732-2919.
People Helping People
People Helping People is a not-for-profit organization that provides for the children and families of the Republic community through their food pantry and clothing bank.
If you need food or clothing, visit 210 N. Pine Ave between 9:30 A.M. and noon on any Tuesday to register. Bring proof of residence (ex. a utility bill) and social security cards for each household member. Clothing is available monthly and food is available up to three times a year.
To help People Helping People, donations of food, clothing, and money are always welcome, and so are volunteers! Donations of clothing can be made any Tuesday morning between 9 am and noon. Drop off at 210 N. Pine Ave. Please don’t leave donations outside of the building.
Clubs, churches, or organizations wishing to sponsor a food drive for PHP can contact any board member or call Kathy at 417-732-7634.
Wheel Fed Food Pantry
Wheel Fed Food Pantry is available for use once a month to people who need assistance with groceries. The food pantry is located at Destiny Church and is open on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 P.M. & 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 11 A.M. -1 P.M.
To use the food pantry, simply stop by during open hours, sign up if it’s your first time (bring proof of each family member & proof of residency if available), and the team will load up your car with a few bags of groceries.
